Welcome to Javier's Gourmet Mexicano, an exceptional dining destination located in the heart of Dallas at 4912 Cole Ave. This upscale Mexican steakhouse redefines what we think of as traditional Mexican cuisine. Javier's seamlessly blends authentic flavors with high-quality ingredients, creating a unique experience that goes beyond your average meal.
Upon entering, you are enveloped in an ambiance that is both sophisticated and inviting. The restaurant’s interior boasts a rustic charm, complete with elegantly adorned walls featuring animal trophies, giving it a distinct character that sets the stage for an extraordinary evening. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a celebration of taste and culture.
Among the standout offerings is the Alambre De Pescado, a charbroiled red snapper brochette, perfectly cooked and served with a delightful assortment of bell peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms resting on a bed of fluffy rice. For those seeking something hearty, the Pechuga De Pollo A La Mexicana offers a tender boneless chicken breast grilled to perfection, adorned with a delectable Mexican sauce and topped with Monterey jack cheese, accompanied by guacamole, rice, and beans.
The appetizer selection is equally impressive. The Sample Platter showcases an exciting trio of tenderloin tips, grilled quail, and garlic shrimp, providing a vibrant introduction to Javier's culinary prowess. For something lighter, the Garlic Shrimp Guaymas in garlic lemon sauce is a must-try.
To sweeten your experience, indulge in the Cajeta Crêpes, featuring a rich caramel sauce and sliced almonds atop delicate crêpes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Alternatively, the classic Key Lime Pie offers a tart and refreshing end to your meal.
Reviews from customers echo the excellence of both food and service. Danielle P. and Mike N. praise the quality of ingredients and the professional service, while Adrienne D. highlights the accommodating staff who cater to special requests, such as providing a cheese-free option for discerning diners.

It’s clear that Javier's Gourmet Mexicano is not just a meal, but a curated event meant to be savored and experienced. So, gather your friends, family, or that special someone, and embark on a culinary journey that will leave your taste buds longing for more.

I've been to Javier's twice -- once for the red snapper and the other for the steak. Both meals were great, both times featured great appetizers, and both times I left sufficiently buzzed from great drinks. Service was professional. Ambience is 100 out of 10. What more could you want?

The food is perfect upscale Fi's and service to compliment it as well! The atmosphere is always a great compliment!

Never been here before. It was so good, we went back the next night. The quail, beef tenderloin & goat fajitas were excellent. Do not come here expecting typical Mexican food choices. This is an upscale Mexican style steakhouse. Vegans stay home! The walls are adorned with animal trophies, deer mounts, and a stuffed Kodiak bear. The service was attentive, a bit rushed and impersonal.

Food was good!! Meat was very tasty and well cooked. Rice and beans were also good. I didn't care for the house salsas, they were warm. It was very dark in the restaurant, which I wasn't expecting. Lots of space for a big group and service was good.

This was our family's first time at Javier's and we had an overall great experience - I was I could give 4.5 stars. We had family come in from out of town and we wanted to take them to a place well-known in Dallas for great experiences and wonderful food. I always appreciate when you can make a reservation, although we had to call the restaurant as opposed to being able to do it online. We were seated as soon as we got there and I was pleased that we (there were 7 of us) were put at a round table which always makes for great conversation where no one feels left out. The ambiance inside is wonderful and they even have spots where you can tuck away for a more quiet and secluded experience. The food and drinks did not disappoint! They don't have a kid's menu, but if you ask they can make something special and much simpler for them. My daughter ordered the beef/steak and thought it was absolutely delicious - she is a very picky eater. The only miss with our experience was that there was cheese on our beans and it wasn't indicated on the menu. Seems small, but as someone who doesn't enjoy cheese on their food I am always careful to read what's in my food and I'm sure to order it without cheese. Both my daughter and I received the beans with cheese on them so we had to ask them to remake it without it. Not overall terrible, and they fixed the issue quickly, but something to note if you're like us and you don't want cheese on your food.

Javier's Gourmet Mexicano in Dallas, Texas, never disappoints. The ambiance is warm and inviting with just the right touch of Mexico, making it a perfect setting for any occasion. The skinny margaritas are divine--not tart, full of flavor, and hand-made, not from a mix. The menu goes beyond typical Tex-Mex offerings, but those familiar items are there for those who crave them. A must-try is the Filete Durango--wow! Our server was perfect, giving us ample time to visit without being pushy about ordering, yet always attentive to our needs. My friend and I shared the Filete Durango, complemented by broccoli with Béarnaise sauce. The portion size was just right after we devoured the small guacamole, which at other places would be considered a large portion. Our waiter split the meal beautifully, presenting it so well that it looked like individual servings. We concluded our meal with a huge slice of key lime pie--again, not your typical Tex-Mex dessert--and an Americano coffee. The coffee not only smelled amazing but was also delicious, making it a perfect end to the meal. There are many amazing Tex-Mex restaurants in Dallas, but Javier's is a locals' favorite and a must-try for visitors. Make sure to map it, as it's a hidden gem. The restaurant has plenty of private areas, beautiful artwork, and seems to go on and on. Once dinner is complete, hop over to the Knox-Henderson area for a little shopping--one of the highlights of Dallas. There are no malls, but you'll find stores you recognize and quaint little shops you won't, so wear good walking shoes.
